Edward Crosby (1899 – 1918 ) was born in Ipswich but his family moved to Colchester, first to 131 Bergholt Road when Edward went to school and later to 34 St Paul’s Road. Edward’s father George worked as a guard on the railway.
Edward joined the1st Battalion of the Buffs (East Kent) Regiment and died of his wounds in November 1919. He is buried at Premont British Cemetery in France.
