Albert Grimwood

Albert Grimwood (1893 -1916) lived at 98 North Station Road when he started at North School and moved to 24 Belle Vue Road sometime after. At 17 he had a job as a clothiers assistant, someone who made clothes.

Albert joined the Royal Fusiliers(City of London Regiment). He was killed in action in December 1916.
He is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial in France and on the St Paul’s roll of honour now on display in St James the Great Church.
