Joseph Timms

Joseph Timms (1892 – 1916) was born in Colchester and entered to North School by his father Joseph when the family were living at 2 Manor Court.  In 1911 they were living at Crispin Court, North Hill and Joseph had a job as a labourer.

He joined the Essex Regiment, arriving in France in August 1914.  He was killed in action in September 1916 during the Battle of the Somme.  He is remembered on  the Thiepval Memorial.
